BARIEAU WINES

Barieau is a boutique wine company located in Santa Barbara County, California. Established in 2015 by second-generation winemaker Bingo Wathen, we have spent the last decade dedicated to better understanding the vineyards and terroirs of our local region.

Barieau wines are made with a simple approach: little to no additives and minimal intervention in the cellar. We prefer to let the vineyards speak for themselves.

CALIFORNIA’S CENTRAL COAST

Home for us lies between the transverse mountain ranges of northern Santa Barbara County. With a unique exposure to cold Pacific Ocean breezes, these coastal valleys offer ideal growing environments for wine grapes.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple: to source grapes from premium, sustainably farmed vineyards and craft wines that capture the true character of their fruit—vibrant, expressive, and meant to be shared.

Grown Responsibly

Crafted With Care

“I see great wine not as a manufactured product, but as an expression of Mother Nature. A glass of wine is the sum of the natural forces that went into creating it: the sunlight, the soil, the wind, the rain.

As vintners, these forces are our deities, and should be celebrated as such. And of course, just as important are the hands of the winemaker, who should be more shepherd than scientist.”
